School System

Adds a school room type where professors can teach colonists to improve their skills faster than on-the-job training.

Professors ( scientist type colonist ) are assigned to the school room using the same vacancies as the research room. So a scientist can either research or teach not both. Then the student (any colonist) takes the relaxation vacancy, Because of this the school room has comfort since you cannot assign a colonist to a relax room and a school at the same time.

To control the skills taught use the mod Menu (top right in game). For a Professor to teach their skill type MUST be activated, meaning if you have a scientist who is strictly an engineer skill, you must activate the engineer skill in the mod menu for the script to recognize that category of skill on the professor.


School system is now in 1.0 release with full intended functionality and player control / monitoring of the school system.

Please report any bugs you may encounter that are not listed below

Known bugs :

A) Comfort levels of the school room are reset upon each reload of the saved game. (FIXED)
B) Schools don't train colonists assigned to it. (FIXED)
C) Uncontrollable training of colonists in school room. (FIXED)

D) School Room Active Training Skills list does not persist through saves. (WIP)

Bug Fixes :

A) FIXED with latest update. New furniture selection in School Rooms. (this will require a fresh game if you have a school already built)

B) Schools now train colonists assigned to the school's recreation slot (takes place of the rec room assignment for the colonist)

C) There are now several control methods for training colonists. The built in function is simple assignment to the school room, the second is player controlled through the new mod UI panel that allows you to turn on or off training for specific skills within the colony.

To stop training simply take the student out of the school and assign them to the rec room.
