Redundant File Finder

描述
As of 02/Jul/2025, gmod natively includes the content from Counter-Strike: Source and HL2's episodes, so packing it in your map is now unnecessary. If you did that, you should remove it. Too lazy? This will help.
The video is a tutorial.

This thing will scan your addons and report any files that are also present in the base game or mounted games (and save the report to disk, in data/redundancies.txt). You'll have to use the console commands listed below. Some files may be stored inside the BSP file and can only be detected by playing the map in-game and using the right command. Because gmod doesn't let addons delete files for safety reasons, you'll have to delete them yourself. Also, if you modified the mounted games, results will be inaccurate.

NOTE: This addon only checks if files have the same path and name. I tried to add the ability to check if the files are different, but the jank defeated me.

People's storage devices don't have infinite capacity, and loading times to get into servers are already infamously long.

Console commands:
Command
Description
redundants_CheckAddonAgainstGame
Usage: "redundants_CheckAddonAgainstGame addonname gamename". Checks if the addon has files from the game.
redundants_CheckMapAgainstGame
Usage: "redundants_CheckMapAgainstGame gamename". Checks if the map you're playing on right now has files from the specified game.
redundants_GetAddons
Gives you the names of all enabled addons, for use in the aforementioned commands.
redundants_GetGames
Gives you the names of all mounted games, for the same reason.

Once there was a tiny little scary story spreader, he was probably like around 18-21 years old. He wanted to make a scary story that he wanted to spread around the internet like wild fire, so he made up a little girl called Clarissa who lived in a mental hospital because she killed her parents and eventually killed all the staff in a hospital, and later on she died. She apparently can haunt people and kill others people who dont copy and paste the story around. And so, the story spreader made his next "big" work and sent it off, hoping that people fall for it. downloaded and it made my main menu stop loading, deleted it and then my main menu came back. i dont think the main menu is very redundant.
