Gun Variety - 23mm double barrel

Adds an old big fashioned double-barreled shotgun. Inspired by Doom supershotgun, with realistic stats. CE-only. Adds only 1 item, doesn't bloat your game with variants.

Kicks like a mule and hits like a truck, this shotgun is a weapon of choice for many farm owners and monster hunters of the rim. Capable of firing both barrels at once for maximum damage. Due to its long barrel and high weight, it is slower on the draw than most shotguns.»


Weighs 6.5 kg and occupies 12.5 bulk, this is a primary weapon for ambushers and early to midgame colonies. 0.9 s warmup time makes it slower than smaller shotguns with their 0.6 s warmups. Capable of firing both barrels at once or one at a time.

It is a sidegrade for pump and semi-auto shotgun, trading magazine size and bulk for increased firepower. Not great in a prolonged firefight, but will make sure that the first guy you hit is absolutely dead.

Features custom "heavy shotgun" sounds (mixed from other vanilla sounds) and 6 ideology style retextures. Has reduced chance to spawn naturally. Requires "Heavy Weapons" research. Stats calculated via CE spreadsheets with minor manual adjustments (see xml for details).

And yes, it is a fictional weapon, with stats approximated as closely as possible to real ks-23 and double-barreled shotguns. Inspired by Stalker's Toz Chimera Hunter gun.

* If you have Ideology DLC, each of the main styles will have a unique look for this gun.
* If you use VE Styles - Sophian, Empire faction will have this gun in white.
* If you use Gun Research Overhaul, it instead requires "High Caliber" and "Break Action" researches.
* Follows restyle philosophy of Authentic Gun Styles mod.
* If you have CE Guns, it will be called "Toz-34-23". Otherwise, it will be called "Heavy double shotgun".
* Compatible with all ammo mods that add new ammo types for ks-23.
