This mod adds a new meme to the Mort's Ideologies mod series, centered around maintaining a large and varied zoo of tamed animals within your colony: Menagerist!

Menagerists get mood bonuses the more total tamed animals they have relative to the number of pawns in the colony - much like the Venerated Animal precept. They also get mood bonuses depending on the variety of tamed animals that are in the colony. If they have very few animals relative to the number of pawns in the colony or have little variety in their menagerie, they will get a mood debuff instead.

Menagerists also get access to the Animal Specialist role - someone needs to act as zookeeper, after all!

The Odyssey DLC is not necessary for this mod, though the added ease of travel and vastly expanded number of animals offered by Odyssey should make it far easier to reach the highest mood bonuses for animal variety under this meme.

I'm not sure why, but I'm seeing a lot of times my pawns will say "no animal species" even when I have a ton of tamed animals.

I feel like a complete menagerie should result in total enlightenment (+100)
mostly kidding, but I'm excited to finally give this concept a try! That would be cool to somehow use hospitality to charge admission.

the [sbz] Cryogenic Tank mod could also be used, alongside the aquarium mod, these can all be done via PatchOperations

Also definitely keep the name Menagerist, sounds far better as an overall ideology than any of the other suggestions which just sound like job titles. It cant hurt to learn new vocabulary folks, it only sounds weird to you because you haven't heard the word menagerie before.

Will definitely integrate really well with Odyssey, looking forward to flying around to collect animals for the Grand Orbital Zoo.

Maybe the recently released Aquariums mod could be integrated into animal variety? Especially with fish officially coming to the game.
