All cards and tokens are scripted to operate with Easy Modules for MtG Encoder by Tyrant and Encoder by Tipsy Hobbit, though are entirely self-contained and playable without it.

Commander Expansions for VWT and VRG are planned for some time in the future.

All of the standard-legal sets (VLD, VWT, & VRG) are fully draftable using Draftmancer[draftmancer.com] and the accompanying files found on my website[kidkamando.github.io].

Draft Guides & Set Descriptions
VLD
The introduction to Velesta, a Magepunk fantasy world of tabletop adventures. However, the world is imperfect, as ages of war and strife have torn across the land. Many of its people are desperate, looking into the future for ways of avoiding more bloodshed or giving their all to every waking moment so they can survive the day.

Velesta Discovered introduces two new creature types - the Drimm and Dhonedem, 7 new keywords (which will be developed over the course of the block), and one new core token. Of these, VLD focuses on:
  • Desperate - If you have no cards in hand, you are considered Desperate. If you are desperate, [effect].
  • Burst - [effect] if you have cast at least three spells this turn.
  • Fatigue - Turn this permanent face down. It becomes a 1/1 Rift Avatar creature with "Pay 1: Turn this permanent face up. Activate only as a sorcery." When this permanent would untap, turn it face up.
  • Predict <X> - Exile the top X card(s) of your library. You may play one of them this turn and it costs 1 less to cast. At the beginning of your end step, shuffle all remaining cards exiled this way into your library.
Players will find themselves balancing card advantage with powerful effects, either attempting to reach desperation to create stronger boardstates and recycle discarded resources, or amassing a large hand to burst it all out in a single turn. But beware! Even the strongest permanents are at their weakest when they are fatigued.

VWT
VWT revisits the world, not exploring its past or important figures, but the current happenings - a series of great wars. After the return of its power despot, the Dark King, Flecha has declared war on the neighboring Nexos, sparking an all-encompassing conflict as Nexos calls out for all other kingdoms to send aid. Meanwhile, the Kovekki city-states continue to do battle in an attempt to finally unite each of them under a single banner.

VWT introduces four new keywords:
  • Crusade - Increase your morale by 1. Once during your turn, when an opponent loses life, increase it. At the beginning of your upkeep, if you lost life since the end of your last turn, decrease it.
  • Hunt - Put a prey counter on [permanent]. It becomes a Food artifact in addition to its other types and has "2, T, Sacrifice this artifact: You gain 3 life."
  • Diminish - Choose any number of permanents with counters on them, then subtract another counter of a kind already there.
  • Accumulate <X> - When equipped creature attacks, put X charge counter(s) on this equipment.
But numbers aren't everything! Velesta Wartorn will ask players to champion armies on grand crusades, granting new possibilities and powers after each exciting victory. Over half of the set revolves around a single mechanic - Crusade, acting similar to a combination of Speed and Energy, but with a twist: Taking damage outside of your turn causes you to lose a Morale (the currency generated by Crusade) during your upkeep. Morale can be spent on almost anything, activated abilities, enhanced or all-new effects, and is even used for a new alternate win-condition, Velesta At War. Utilizing your morale and seizing control over the board is the key to victory in Wartorn. To war!

Note: Because over half of VWT revolves around Crusade (and Aggro/Tempo by extension), all archetypes have aggro options, regardless of themes. It is also extremely likely (though not guaranteed) that each deck will revolve around Crusade in some way.

VRG
VRG concludes the block by revisiting and expanding each mechanic, as the world of Velesta recovers from its conflicts. However, strife is far from removed, as forces like the Pharani and Dhonedem seek to expand.

VRG introduces four new keywords:
  • Immolate <X> - If this creature would enter the battlefield, choose a target player. They must sacrifice X nontoken creature(s). If they sacrifice X creature(s) this way, put this creature onto the battlefield under the chosen player’s control. Otherwise, exile it.
  • Mirage <X> - As an additional cost to cast this spell, you may sacrifice any number of Illusion creatures with total power X or greater.
  • Phantasm - When this Equipment enters, create a 2/2 red Illusion creature token, then attach this to it.
  • Bountiful - If you have five or more cards in hand, [effect].
As the conclusion to the block, VRG revisits everything, expanding as much of each archetype as feasible. It also introduces Mirage, a payoff to all of the Illusion cards sprinkled throughout. Careful use of your favorite strategy will tip the scales in your favor. And thank you for playing!
