描述

The birthplace of the Enlightenment, and the first state to implement mandatory education: Scotland has been home to many of the philosophers, scientists, economists, and political theorists who led the way from Medieval to Modern times.

Reap increased Culture and Science from urban centres as you develop hubs of learning.

Train Humanists: a Great Person who creates a unique Relic representing their philosophical or scientific works. These Great People replace Missionaries, making this an alternate way to complete the Culture Legacy Path for Scotland.

Discover unique complementarities with Scotland's Traditions, which turn Science into profit and productivity.

FEATURES
  • New Civilization: Adds a new Civilization representing Scotland, themed on Scotland's Medieval, Renaissance and Early Modern scholasticism, from Duns Scotus to Adam Smith.
  • Unique Civic Tree: A unique Civic Tree that guides you on that journey, from feudal baronies and guilds, to education reforms, to the enlightenment.
  • Unique Great People and Relics: 10 Great People and 10 Unique Relics based on Scottish thinkers.
    • Adam Smith
    • David Hume
    • Duns Scotus
    • Francis Hutcheson
    • Hector Boece
    • John Knox
    • John Major
    • John Napier
    • Lord Kames
    • Thomas Ruddiman
  • Unique Quarter: Iconic features of Scottish cities and countrysides: the Mercat Cross (a centre of town commerce) and the Pele Tower (minor castles that speckle the border regions). Combined, these elevate your cities to Royal Burghs, making your workforce more learned as state institutions provide better services like education.
  • Unique Military Unit: Ravage your neighbours from afar with the Scots Reivers: a Cavalry unit that can pillage at range.

UNIQUE CIVICS TREE AND TRADITIONS
  • Baronage
    • Tier 1: Pele Tower and Lyon Court
    • Tier 2: Mercat Cross and Flemish Guilds
  • Highlands and Islands
    • Food and Gold Buildings gain adjacency from Mountains; Culture and Happiness Buildings gain adjacency from Coast; gain a Relic.
  • Education Act
    • Grammar Schools and gain a Relic.
  • Scots Enlightenment
    • Political Economy and gain +1 Settlement Cap.

FEEDBACK AREAS
  • Balance: Adjacencies are played with a lot with this Civ. Given Specialists scale off of adjacencies, this might be more powerful than it looks. The Humanists being the new Relic wincon is also tricky: the cost scaling on Humanists may need to be increased.

yep! it is. no update was needed after 1.2.5, hence no more recent update date. hope u enjoy!

I'd love ta gie is a go, is it compatible with the latest patch, 1.2.5 I think it is?
mattwho  [作者] 9 月 11 日 上午 8:10
yeah, i need to update a bunch of the localisation & unlock stuff to fit the 1.2.4 update. it's been a crazy busy month so far and they're fairly low priority as you say, so i haven't got around to it. similarly they added a bunch of new icons that appear in ability descriptions and tooltips etc which i need to implement.
much broader selections of unlocks were also added in that update, and any ideas for strategy-inspired unlocks are v welcome. himiko ireland and ben franklin ireland are definites for strategic complementarities. perhaps also confucius scotland. sikh empire possibly catherine the great for the great work synergy...

INCREDIBLY minor thing but Ada's hover text is broken on the Civ select screen for this and your Ireland, it says the 'LOC_UNLOCK_PLAY_AS_ADA' string instead of whatever it should be. Some other little stuff that's come in updates since this released are loading screen tips (again, not essential at all, just leaves a blank box on load) and Leaders automatically unlocking all their strategic choices, not just ones the ones they actually ruled / lived in. Some of these are weird and heinous (Pachacuti unlocking Nepal, Ada unlocking Abbasids) but I think some would make a lot of sense to implement here - like Ben Franklin unlocking Scotland / Ireland as he does Normandy or Great Britain. The more out-there ones are better left to your discretion though (like Himiko Ireland)

hey! when does it crash? during a game, between turns? or when starting a game? what other mods do you have active? which dlcs do you have? does it freeze or does it crash to desktop? is there an error message?
FDR2013 9 月 5 日 上午 9:35
I like this mod a lot, but the game keeps crashing while I have it activated
mattwho  [作者] 8 月 24 日 上午 5:46
thanks! could i see a list of other mods you're running? it's likely to be a mod issue, as i haven't found any issues caused by the update for this mod.
