For some time now, we've been particularly bothered by regular crashes that can occur anywhere, anytime. After some research and testing, it seems the problem lies with VRAM management.

Here's a setting to add to your Engine.ini file, which you'll find in your folder:

Linux:

Windows:

At the very end of the file, add this:

Replace XXX with half of your total VRAM and YYY with a quarter of this half..
Make the file read-only, and if you encounter any problems, simply remove this setting and make your file writable again.

This limits the total VRAM allocation dedicated to streaming textures as well as temporary memory for resizing.

Make sure you have enough video memory for the game's needs. Don't set all settings to maximum if you only have 8GB of total VRAM as this would only leave 4GB of space for other resources that use VRAM. Reduce global illumination to achieve an acceptable compromise for your VRAM.

This is a test, it worked for me. I haven't conducted large-scale tests on hundreds of different configurations. I'm not an aerospace engineer, and I decline all responsibility if your war machine explodes. Thank you to those who make the effort to test or improve this possible fix.
