I'd also look into audio, if a sound is around or more than 100mb, compress it. There's free programs that do this like Audacity. Songs get a bit more leeway but above 2gb should be questioned. Compress audio with Opus or Vorbis if possible for best quality results.
Last thing, don't feel called out. This has been an issue with the entire community and you're not nearly the worst I've seen at filesize, I saw a map at 20gb before which is wild. Keep in mind what I'm talking about is very doable, plenty of high fidelity maps are in the range of 4-8gb. Also if this is done you'll certainly reach a wider audience of people willing to download and run your map. I hope you keep making better and better maps in the future!
