Adjusted Combat

描述
The purpose of this mod is to make the combat in Pharaoh more intuitive and interesting by highlighting the differences between various units and giving them what I believe to be more logical functions.

Highlights
  • Swords are stronger and deadlier, but worse at penetrating armour. They are now a versatile melee unit that is particularily effective against unarmoured enemies.
  • Spears have had their defensive stats increased at the cost of their offense. Now they are not only a counter to chariots, but also reliable at holding the frontline
  • Axes have traded their lethality for ability to degrade enemy armour. They will be able to wear down armoured enemies over time.
  • Maces and clubs now directly penetrate armour instead of degrading it. They are a strong pick against armoured enemies
  • Javelins do less damage, but can degrate armour. They are now better at softening the enemy up before a melee fight.
  • Slings now have a more powerful direct shot (with more range and armour piercing damage) while bows are a bit weaker at direct fire. This should make slingers useful and more distinct from archers.

I wanted to make javelins less of a flanking damage dealer and more of a skirmisher used to screen the main force.
Giving them armour degradation makes it more viable to throw javelins at the approaching enemy (from the front) before the melee clash begins - which I think creates a more interesting gameplay synergy and plays out a bit more like historical skirmishes

i think javelins and slings should have the role switched javelins were powerful armour piercing weapons famously

This mod was conflicting with Three Kingdoms Unit Shape, which modifies the same tables. Thanks for helping me again, I appreciate it.

Quick note on mod priority: load order only sets priority for art/models, and is also used if one mod depends on another loading first (submods, etc). In this case, renaming the table and putting an ! in front of it caused your mod to take priority, but I'm going to uninstall 3k unit shape since it looks like using both would require me to basically merge the mods into one pack file and I like your mod better. =P

Try placing Adjusted Combat on top of the mod order. This should make sure it does not get overwritten by another one

Removing all mods but this one and skip intros has the trait showing. Once I narrow down the conflicting mod I'll report back in case anyone else runs into the issue. Thanks for checking for me, I should have tested like this before I commented. =P

Libu Warriors should have both armour breaking weapon and the trait, and it shows up when I launch the mod. Are you maybe using any other mods that affect unit stats?

I noticed that Libu Warriors (two handed axe speedsters) don't have the icon for the armor breaker trait, and I was wondering if they are working right, or if maybe the icon just wasn't included.

Ulter has my family so I'm forced to give this a positive rating
