Important Notice: Dynamic Weather Overhaul is a complete package. The addons listed below are now standalone mods that require the Main Module to function.

By installing this mod, you’re choosing to experience The Zone in an entirely new light. This overhaul deviates from the original design, and while it elevates immersion, it may also alter intended gameplay. Proceed knowing you’re embracing a reimagined atmosphere curated with passion by the community.





Step Into a Reimagined Zone


Main Module Features
  • Volumetric Fog & Visual Overhaul: All weathers have been completely rebuilt to utilize the game's native Volumetric Fog. This results in denser fog (especially at night), much more natural color tones, and enhanced atmosphere.
  • Expanded Weather Cycle: The total weather count has expanded from 5 to 8. This includes a full revamp of Light Rainy (blending the new vanilla system with the mod's style), enhanced Thunderstorms with heavy rainfall effects, and the addition of dense Fog and rare naturally occurring Anomalous Storms.
  • Reactive World: Particles are now highly reactive to weather changes. Surfaces remain wet for significantly longer after rain transitions, and wind effects pick up dust and debris dynamically.
  • Refined Progression: "Partly Cloudy" and "Overcast" states are distinct from Clear weather, creating a natural progression to severe conditions.
  • Dynamic Transitions: Weather changes are no longer linear. A new probabilistic system allows for multiple outcome paths—a clear day might slowly build into a storm or rapidly switch to rain.
  • Regional Diversity: Specific regions feature distinct weather patterns, with more intense activity occurring in unstable areas to increase immersion.
  • Unpredictable Emissions: Emission events vary in duration and start times, making them harder to predict than in the vanilla game.
  • Intense Vortex: The Emission Vortex is significantly larger, denser, and sits closer to the ground for a heavier, more menacing appearance.

New Version Update Highlights
  • Volumetric Fog Integration: Rebuilt all weather types to utilize the game's native volumetric fog, creating distinct atmosphere and foggier nights.
  • Weather Overhauls: "Light Rainy" has been completely redone to blend the new vanilla system with the mod's style. "Thunderstorm" and "Foggy" weathers feature enhanced heavy rainfall effects and density.
  • Environmental Reactivity: Surfaces now remain wet for significantly longer after rain transitions.
  • Visual Polish: General quality pass on all weathers to ensure distinct tones and fixed moon textures.
  • Gameplay Adjustments: NVGs have been tweaked to accommodate darker nights, and campaign weather patterns have been updated to fit the new cycle.
  • Optimization: Removed the AI module to reduce bloat (redundant with recent base game updates).

Addons
Realistic Sun Path: Matches real-world sun trajectory during the late summer.

These experimental addons are now available as separate workshop items:

Classic Blowout Reborn (WIP): A terrifying reimagining of emissions inspired by the original trilogy. Survive three waves of increasing intensity, with custom VFX and mechanics.

Alternative Eye Exposure (WIP): Re-balances eye adaptation to reduce overwhelming brightness from windows and prevent white-out skies, while enhancing interior mood and atmosphere.



This mod conflicts with any mods that alter the following .cfg files located in your Paks directory:
Stalker2\Content\GameLite\GameData WeatherChainPrototypes.cfg WeatherSelectionPrototypes.cfg
It also modifies Unreal Engine Assets located in:
Stalker2\Content\light\Curves Stalker2/Content/_Stalker_2/VFX/Environment/Rain/Niagara/NS_Rain_Weather.uasset Stalker2/Content/_Stalker_2/VFX/Environment/Generators/NS_Generators_Ligtnings_Core_2.uasset
These are UE assets which are compiled and repackaged, and cannot be easily modified or merged with any other Weather Mods (If any other come out in the future).

The mod really benefits from Real Longer Days[www.nexusmods.com] for added immersion.
I recommend using Optimax[www.nexusmods.com] or Ultra Plus[www.nexusmods.com] for enhanced weather and lighting effects. These have fixes for lighting which accompany this mod.

I don't get it - so installing this mod on steam mean - I wont see new light rain weather added by GSC?

Yes i basically mixed my own with their implementation, so its "new". If you want try to the GSC version, i added a special addon on the Nexus version of my mod to override it with the GSC one.

Since Light rainy has been introduced, does your mod overwrite it? Because i really prefer the way it looks with your mod, it has a more natural look.

its terrible, i dont get ppl like this mod. i just tried it at night and its so dark but not realistically dark, you cant see on the ground at all. very ugly to me:steamthumbsdown:

Very nice mod, man. Those emissions are fantastic and the night makes NVG use even better with Gen3-B.
