I am currently working on 2 hardcore survival mods. The other one overhauling progression (feats, etc) to emphasize crafting only and bringing back useful thralls. And a second mod that overhauls the Exiled Lands to accommodate the other mod. Survival is really missing from the game currently! I'm a bit too busy to properly be able to help (Can barely find time to work on the mods), but this is how I learned:
I used Youtube tutorials and the Conan Modding discord. People are pretty helpful there. If you want to change loot tables, there's gonna be a LOT of datatables to tinker so prepare to look at an excel sheet for a week haha :D
Was looking at learning to use UE to make a mod that either removes all world chests (but leaves dungeon legendaries / skeleton keys) or does what your mod does and edits all loot tables to only pull small healing consumables - to create a true survival / entirely craft-only playthrough.
do you think you could help with this? or point me in a direction of learning (currently using AI)
I plan to create a series of mods that together create the ultimate Conan survival experience!
Keep it up!
Also just a thought on chests maybe the ones with loot are locked most of the time, it would make more sense that way and mods that add lock picking or tools will have more use.
