IDS Gyanna V. Sykuna

The IDS Gyanna V. Sykuna is an Interdincian Aeronaval Destroyer of the Arreliya class, designed and produced in a joint venture between Chyvyn and Origyn with the express goal of further expanding and diversifying the Interdincian energy weapon field. Produced in 1079, born of the success of the Fyyara and later Immyst, this vehicle is also one of the first in Interdincian airships to make use of the newly developed Particle cannon system. While the initial reactions to the craft were negative and condescending, it became collectively accepted after its admirable performance on the field.

The service record of the Gyanna is one of comedic victory. After its initial problems of not reaching any of its planned goals during its design, the program came under fire within Interdicnian high command, the press, and the general public. It was only years into its service when it proved itself in combat. When the upcoming captain Umbyra found herself in an engagement against some generalist enemy forces, during the fight, she was distracted and looked away from the enemy forces for a short time, and when she observed the fight once more, the enemy she was certain could down the Gyanna was found sinking in the water. This victory and many like it happened once again. Strangely, the repeating event is now known as the “lookaway phenomenon,” where Umbyra was rarely ever able to witness the killing shot that brings a vehicle down.

The Namesake of the Gyanna is one of the youngest namesakes to be placed on an Interdicman vessel. Gyanna V. Sykuna was a young girl adopted by General Fyyara Pyniel. She took after her adopted mother from a young age. This led her down the very same energy weapons rabbit hole that her mother was so adamant about. Because of this, she found herself on many stages advocating for the usage of energy weapons within the IAF, and unlike Fyyara, she would live to see the success of her work. The symbol placed on the building is a depiction of the interdiction landscape. Showcasing the mountains and the skies, along with a floating island, one of the most picturesque sights in all of interdicnia, where these beautiful islands are usually used to farm sunflowers. This was made at the request of Gyanna with the hope of honoring Fyyara’s legacy and providing a tasteful symbol to the craft's reputation.
