I'll consider how to implement it. I can probably add a config to specify names for additional highlights.
Right now I found these two mods which emulate what I asked above :

but maybe using the mini-map for that purpose would be cleaner and more performance-friendly ?
To avoid this being too OP, maybe could displaying rarer resources be linked to player skill or feat levels ?

This mod does not change the current behavior of the mini map but just add dots for items.
The dots are synced in each turn. But the others are as is. For example, dug wall looks not synced in the mini map.
to update "in real time", as in, each turn? I do a lot of digging :D
