The English translation of Maid Universalis is finally here!

This is the English translation for the mod "女仆之国" or Maid Universalis by ChouGou. After playing ChouGou's amazing maid mod, I was thinking that his mod really need an English translation so that more people can enjoy it. I asked for his approval to translate his great mod and he approved it! Thank you for allowing me to translate your mod!

This is NOT a standalone mod, you cannot just subscribe to this mod. You will need to subscribe to the original maid mod also. Put this mod after the maid mod in the load order.

I try my best to translate this mod, but it's mostly translated using AI to reduce the time needed to translate the entire mod, so please tell me if there's anything weird with the translation results.

Oh and if you also like playing Stellaris, I recommend you try both of his Tasty Maid mods also. They are all available in English, no translation mod required!

This quirky mod includes the following:
Beautiful maid images:
  • Crafted with Care: All the maid portraits used in this mod are hand-drawn by the author.

  • Versatile Maids: The maids change based on culture, government type, tags, and other factors. There are dozens of different maid portraits, and some even have linked portraits with a mod that added a large chunk of land in the Pacific.
The Self-Serving Maid Class:
  • Loyal Maids: Maids are akin to eunuchs, with their power directly granted by the ruler. Their privileges are slightly stronger than those of other classes. However, as their influence grows, maids can also become corrupt...

  • Raising Heirs: Hunting and illness are very dangerous for heirs. Maids can secretly raise the heir, though the legitimacy of a child raised by maids may be lacking, but they won’t die unexpectedly.

  • Maids in Power: As the influence of maids rises, they will, like other classes, trigger power struggles. However, these struggles can lead to the formation of a special maid-led government.
Using Terrifying Maids to Corrupt Vassals:
  • Maid Vassal: Can be transformed from a vassal or a tributary state without consuming diplomatic relations. It will join its suzerain’s defensive wars but can declare war (both internal and external) and form alliances like a daimyo. Before federal reforms, it will compare total power like a vassal but can reduce its independence tendency through granting fiefs. theres so much that isnt actually shown how to be done or how to start it..

@Berlingot you have to follow the maid event chain and eventually you will be able to convert to the maid religion.

@Kaiserreich Sorry for the late reply, here's the best that I know:

1. I don't think so, unless you play as Ming because they do have special characters of their own, but you do not need to convert to the maid religion to gain access to them.

2. I actually don't know how to specifically get cat girl maids in normal EU IV, but I was able to get them by combining with Anbennar mods. It could be that cat girl maids only exist there, but I need to do more research on that.

3. I don't know if there are specific fox girls or dog girls, but there is an extra feature to the maid religion, when choosing the Chaotic/Lawful and Good/Evil alignment after you converted to the maid religion. Your alignment will give religion modifiers like Shipgirl maids, demihuman maids, etc. depending on your chosen alignment. That's the other maid variations mentioned in the mod that I know of. I also need to do more research on that.

I have three questions:

1. when we convert to the maid religion other than Little Grey are there any other special characters we can get?

2. Is it possible to get cat girl maids because I remember it mentioned something about cat girls in the maid religion, and if it is possible how do we get them?

3. Are there other demi-humans maids in this mod like fox girls or dog girls?

@hazard Any other mods you play with? There could be other mods that caused the issue, try using only the original maid mod and this mod. If it's fine, then one of the mods you use has issues with the maid mod.

Just want to throw my two cents in. Really good mod. A lot more tasteful than it should be, with a crazy amount of depth. It certainly can be OP, but there's also a lot of great quality of life features. Definitely worth a download.
