Keisei 3200 Series / 京成3200形

The 3200 Series (3200形) is a commuter EMU introduced by Keisei Electric Railway in 2025.

Designed as new standard commuter vehicle for Keisei, the 3200 series features greater operational flexibility than the company's existing fleet. During the COVID pandemic commuter demand had dropped significantly across Japan, but Keisei's vehicles largely operated in fixed sets and could not reduce the length of cars to lower costs, this series was thus developed taking the experience into account. Unlike the 3000 and 3100 series, this type has a gangway installed in the front cab, allowing it to connect to other 3200 series sets and existing 3400 series sets. The type can operate as 4, 5, or 8 cars. The base formation is 4 cars long, but formations of 6 cars are also possible via splitting another set in two, and adding it's two cars in front of the first car. All vehicles in a set are powered, but those without a pantograph only have two powered axles out of four, making them '0.5M' cars. This series is designed to operate primarily local non-through running services across the Keisei network, It will not be used on the Asakusa Line and Keikyu lines. There is only one 6 car set in operation as of May 2025.
