Smart Pistol

描述
The Smart Pistol scans for hostile targets within a short range, locking onto them automatically. Any rounds fired will then maneuver to hit the locked targets.


When you aim at a target, the pistol also locks onto hostile targets within a 35° cone centered on your aim direction.
The Smart Pistol calculates the shots needed to kill each enemy based on its damage and the target’s head HP, distributing them across up to twelve targets simultaneously.
Once you begin firing, each bullet will home in on its assigned target, neutralizing as many foes as possible in a single burst.

Holding Ctrl allows temporary lock-on to neutral targets. Friendly targets can only be attacked by directly selecting them, with no additional friendly locks permitted.

The Smart Pistol’s damage calculation can be toggled between two modes via the MOD settings screen: Normal Mode, which uses RimWorld’s standard damage calculations (including armor mitigation and blocking mechanics), and Armor-Ignore Mode, which completely bypasses armor values. In Normal Mode, random variance in damage calculations may cause slight fluctuations in the estimated shots needed to kill a target.
In both modes, guided bullets always strike the head (or brain-containing part) of a locked enemy. In Normal Mode, RimWorld’s standard armor calculations apply, potentially reducing damage or blocking shots entirely. In Armor-Ignore Mode, armor has no effect, ensuring full damage to the head unless other factors intervene.
Cover, such as sandbags or walls, can still block shots in both modes.

Since I couldn't think of a good way to obtain it, it's currently craftable at the Fabrication Bench (this may change in the future).

A: Not currently, but community patches are welcome.
however, I plan to rewrite various parts of the code over the next while, so if you're seriously considering making a patch, it's probably best to hold off for now.

Q: Why doesn’t my Shooting skill increase when I use it?

it would be nice if you added a setting in the mods menu or something, like a non-lethal setting that focuses on targeting limbs instead of the head, so it has more chance of downing enemies instead of killing them. i've not used this yet but a few friends of mine that use it struggle to get "involuntary labour forces" because they all keep dying instead of downing.

Always love to see mod weapons with unique properties. If you're trying to make using this less overpowered, consider attacking the empire with these. Their shield belts are pretty much the only effective defence (if you tweak the numbers).
