When in multiplayer, during a boss fight, dead players cannot revive and turn into ghosts. They are able to fly anywhere and are not seen or targeted by anyone on the map, until the fight is over.

Also, adds a mount that turns you into a ghost and an ability to tweak boss health and damage, if the boss fights are too hard/easy (from 1% up to 200%).
