[V-RP] 5th Fleet Breacher

The Clone Breachers/ Clone SWAT were an independent unit within the Special Operations Brigade of the Grand Army of the Republic. Specialising in close-quarters urban tactics, they were deployed on missions deemed too unimportant for units such as Republic Commandos or ARC Troopers, although they would be seen supplementing the latter.

Examples of such missions they would be deployed in would be: Within areas of high political unrest, minor bomb disposal, hostage crises or to supplement a large-scale operation by taking out lower-medium risk key targets/locations. Along with being trained in their specialisation, they were also taught in ordnance armament and disarmament, and practised utilisation of hand-held explosive devices e.g. flashbangs, dioxis grenades, and thermal detonators.

Their armour consisted of lightly modified clone gunner armour with small additions including night vision to operate in low light conditions. This armour at least gave some protection against explosive ordnance, at least compared to the clone ordnance specialist. However, this greatly reduced their mobility as they also had to carry a backpack full of grenades, breaching charges, detpacks, and bomb disposal equipment, along with a modified M3 Bulwark Blast Shield, and a DC-15S or DC-17 blaster pistol.
A subgroup of the Clone Breacher’s were Special Security Division, taking their close-quarters urban tactics specialisations and applying it to Onboard Space Combat and Security aboard Republic Warships. Their training and equipment were modified to operate in the vacuum of space, with a greater specialisation on offensive and counter cyber warfare aboard Separatist and Compromised Republic Warships respectively, trading the overtly high-risk explosive training (although bomb defuse training was still included) for subterfuge-based warfare.

Their specialisation with computer systems translated in part to security duties, allowing them to supplement as part of a security forces on vessels inclusive of their usual duties. This specific Clone Breacher is a part of a sub-unit within the 5th Fleet Security to help provide additional needed manpower during wartime operations.
