NS Intercity MAX E1

A proposal from the Dutch national railways NS to run a high speed service over the then to be built HSL line. An NS delegation carried a suitcase with a custom livery E1 Max made by KATO to display to the government officials.

The government rejected the proposal in 1999 due to NS suddenly lowering the amount of budget needed to realise it's plans, leading the government to believe that NS had lied to them. As a punishment the new high speed line would be open to private operators. NS in response put out an unrealistic bid to ensure their operation of the line. Despite warnings from civil servants and NS technicians both sides continued on with their plans. Leading to a lot of misery and danger (from the FYRA project) that could have been avoided with more competent management within NS and within the Government...


This mod contains a ten car Shinkansen Max E1 trainset as NS presented it in 1999.
