Thank you Gauge for awarding this layout with 2nd place in the Compact Comp! This layout was a blast to build and I'm glad to see it paid off.

Packed with industry, grime, and implied asbestos, this 1930s cityscape provides ample switching opportunities and plenty of nooks to explore in miniature. Before switching, be sure to mind the streetcar AI train or park it off the main line.

From left to right the layout includes a print shop, manufacturing hall, petroleum products plant, pottery workshop, brick factory, furniture workshop, fertilizer plant, and a lumber yard. These industries are all anchored by a small 4-track yard on the top of the layout, and a 2-track freighthouse in the bottom right.

Controls
To change the time of day, the time & weather menu is behind a door on the left end of the table. To play and pause the music, flick the lever on the top of the radio. To move the transfer table, edit the track using the gizmo and use Ctrl to snap to the tracks. A final note: when switching, you can treat the steeplecab as a battery electric to switch cars on un-electrified track. Use L1 and L2 to raise and lower the trolley poles.

Custom props provided by:
Long: Original Flatcar, Pots
Fedora: Custom Signs
Corporal: Tunnel Trolley

Radio setlist:
“Industrial Disease” Dire Straits
Adread by Nathan, Long, and Emi
“The Chemical Workers’ Song” Ron Angel
“Sixteen Tons” Tennessee Ernie Ford
“Blue Collar Man” Styx
“Allentown Billy Joel

Okay, actually playing on this map, it's actually really charming.

Wow. Just... wow. I just spent the better part of an hour shuffling about with an Interurban and a Whitcomb, finding more and more and more sidings and tracks and hidden details to explore. For a good while it doesn't seem to end - and when it does, you can't help but reflect on how the hell all of this you just saw did fit into such a small area. AMAZING, great job, please keep making such gems!

Actually shocked that I never thought of booting up one of Philskene's layouts for inspiration. There's definitely some subconscious influence in this design, but in the moment his dozens of interurban and narrow gauge industrial layouts completely skipped my mind :steamfacepalm:

This is really, really impressive. Very much reminds me of Philskene's layouts from Trainz.
