This assault map is based off an experimentation of AI I did way back in 2017, when I first started using Hammer. Those tests evolved into what eventually became The Antagonist’s Story: Anticitizen One. I spent the long weekend trying to turn this demo map into something “playable” and whoo boy do those quotation marks hold their weight here.

I’m not gonna lie; I was basically just fingerpainting lipstick on a pig. Don’t get your hopes up on this map – it functions, barely. If you want to play something actually good, check out my other maps in the collection above!

There’s no goal, no special events, no end – just an endless swarm of NPC’s who, unlike you, don’t care about wasting time. Expect mediocre AI, expect to see ugly geometry and infrequent dev textures, and expect it to break. This was just a one-weekend project and unless there’s broken models/textures or issues with getting it to work at all, I won’t be updating this. Again, I’ve sunk much more effort into other maps which you can find on the workshop, both for Half Life 2 and Garry’s Mod.

Multiplayer might work, hardly works in singleplayer so I don’t see how throwing more liabilities at it could make it any worse.

When I was originally experimenting with AI, I threw this map together just as a bit of practice. Because it was getting nowhere without a plan, I restarted it when making Anticitizen One, following plans I had hand drawn and designed properly. This was just kinda an amalgamation of what a 17 year old newbie at the Hammer software could do, vs what 7-year-older me could do to fix his past mistakes in four days.
