I was playing a pretty normal game as the lord of Ryukyu, south of Japan. Building up, building tall, so on. One day I make an alliance with Japan's current Kampaku to make sure I don't get invaded.
My character dies a decade or so later. I prepare to make an alliance with the new Kampaku.
There isn't a new Kampaku. It's the same guy. OK, maybe I allied to him when he was young- wait a minute, what's that number next to his age?
He's 120 years old. I briefly think it's a bug before I spot the Immortal symbol on his sheet. Then I am in Deep Poop because I realize there will be no instability for me to take advantage of and snatch the duchy I want with. There is an immortal Kampaku with 39 Intrigue leading the realm and I am the little island to the South.
That single moment made me so happy (and so frustrated, in a good way) that this mod instantly became one of my favorites ever.
