About
This mod will allow insects to have genes. Every time insect hives appear, they will begin to evolve, gaining genes for their population. Naturally, the new genes will only spread to newborn insects from the hive. Once the hive reproduces, the daughter hives will inherit the genetic set, continuing the evolution.

About genes
Insects have a vast array of their own genes. You won't see them in the xenotype editor.
So, the hive has 6 levels. Over time, the hive will increase its level, which will add a new gene each time.
How exactly are genes chosen?
My algorithm balances the metabolism value around zero. Once the hive spreads, the child hives inherit the genetic set and half the level of the parent. This allows the new hives to continue evolving further.

Tends not to play nice with insectoids 2, causes massive lag spike and then insects that would have genes just don't spawn

Seems to be causing an issue with insectoid spawns (insectoids 2 spawns), i dont have the log because im dumb and uninstalled it without saving it first, but still fantastic mod idea and i will be trying it again soon ^_^

Do get the bumbledrone hives of alpha creatures/biomes and the hornets of medieval overhaul also the effects?

implementing it for all animals would be extremely sweet, tho, gotta say!
this seems really awesome, im just worried a bit cause hives always become dormant after a while, and i dont think i´ve ever seen insectoids build a new hive- thing is, you´d probably get rid of them really fast unless you want to breed wild insectoids somehow, or keep them alive just to watch them evolve, and due to this only ever see freshly generated insectoid spawns
