ABOUT THE MOD

In this strategic two-player duel, the fate of Middle-earth hangs in the balance. Play as the Fellowship of the Ring, striving to protect the free peoples and destroy the One Ring — or as Sauron, commanding dark forces to capture Frodo and plunge the world into shadow

Passive Ability Tracking: Notifications now appear when triggered, and effects are automatically applied
• Stats are locked in at the end of each turn, preventing action changes
• Movement on the Quest of the Ring is now only possible when playing the appropriate cards/abilities/tiles
• Numerous QoL and stability improvements



HOW TO PLAY

A game plays over 3 successive chapters that unfold similarly. On your turn, strengthen your Skills, hoard your treasure, stretch your presence across Middle-earth, rally Races to your cause, or advance the Quest of the Ring

Turn Overview
Each chapter, players take available cards (not covered by others) from a face-up/down display. They can either:
  1. Play the card, paying its cost to gain its benefit, or
  2. Discard the card to take coins equal to the chapter number

Players can also buy Landmark tiles (from face-up options), placing them in their play area. This lets them place a Fortress pawn on the central board and activate the tile’s effects immediately.

Victory Conditions
Immediately win the game by fulfilling one of the 3 victory conditions:

The Quest of the Ring track
If Frodo and Sam reach Mount Doom and destroy the One Ring, or if the Nazgûl catch Frodo and Sam, they seize the One Ring the respective team immediately wins the game!

Conquering Middle-Earth
If you are present in all 7 regions (with a Fortress and/or at least 1 Unit), you dominate Middle-earth and immediately win the game

Support of the Races
If you gather 6 differen symbols on your Green cards, you rally the support of the Races of Middle-earth and immediately win the game

If none of these three victory conditions are achieved by the end of chapter 3, the player who is present in the most regions of Middle-earth (with a Fortress and/or at least 1 Unit) wins the game. In case of tie, share the victory

Aaaand I can't seem to see the UI when I'm not hosting. We saw one tidbit of information about both players needing to have the same system language. And, somehow this isn't more of a widespread issue across TTS players.

Anyways, sorry to spam you. Not your fault. Thanks again.

So, we tested it further and apparently he can't see any UI elements on any mod. He's Hungarian, but his client is set to English. Definitely not your fault, but I can't seem to find any reason why it doesn't work.

Unfortunately, he didn't even see that button (and neither did I when he streamed for me). It's not a global issue - he was able to see other scripted UI elements in other workshop games. We'll try to test more later (and I'll try to test with a different partner)!

@Rzats i made some tweaks to make it possible to move the Ring quest in any case, even if the tracker or any other component is removed for some reason

1. it's not really a bug, but rather a gap in logic. it is precisely because these abilities are conditional (you must choose one of them) that I removed their output in the HUD. perhaps it was worth displaying them in some other way, but I did not find the best solution that would not confuse the player.

Thanks a lot for this wonderful script you've made.
A minor bug I encountered tho :

when playing with the "move one on the ring quest when picking a yellow card"
the option to move wasn't shown on the HUD so I had to do it manually, physics problem ensued and when later on the "sauron token couldn't be found" I was stuck not able to end my turn because I HAD to move 2.

There were many steps along the way that caused this havoc, but the bottom line for me is that you shouldn't be stuck in your turn because of a mandatory click on "move on the ring quest".

Few bugs I've encountered. Grey cards that are supposed to give you 2 skills only show up as 1 in the HUD. Also grey cards that give you a choice of 3 skills force you to take the very first one in the HUD. In the actual game, you can choose to use any of the three when you use the card. Not sure how you'd script this but thought I'd mention it. Lastly the coin counter claims "spent 2 coins" in the game chat instead of 1 when you use the buttons next to your coins.
