What if the once-neutral Socialist Republic of Yugoslavia had turned RED?

As Cold War tensions flare once again along the Adriatic coastline, NATO forces launch a decisive naval intervention. Following escalating Soviet activity and a pro-Communist coup in Yugoslavia, the strategic Port of Split has become a focal point for potential conflict.

Soviet-backed forces swiftly occupied Resnik Airbase, bolstering defenses around the crucial harbor. Recent NATO reconnaissance flights have confirmed the rapid deployment of mobile missile systems and fortified coastal artillery, clearly intended to protect incoming Soviet supply vessels.

In response, NATO's regional command, NAVCENT, initiates Operation Vigil Horizon, committing available maritime and aerial assets to neutralize this threat and reestablish control over the region.

📌 Primary Objectives:
🔒 Establish and enforce a full naval blockade bringing the USS Saratoga close to the port.
🔴 Render Reisnik Airbase unoperable.
🚢 Secure and safely recover the Italian merchant vessel MV Gatto Campania seized by the coup stagers.

Multiple Soviet response vessels mobilizing to respond.

Confirmed presence of Yugoslav Komanda Vojnopomorske Oblasti Jadran (KVOJ) naval elements actively patrolling and defending the port.
