RCT Combattere

Combattere was designed as an improved Batch A destroyer, after Caroni suggested 4 guns as the main armament, and a reduction of torpedo launchers to two quadruple mounts. Combattere was laid down in 1942, being finished 8 months later. She would remain in the Mediterannean until July of 1943, when she would finally be sent to Asia, where she often operated alongside Romolo. Combattere became known across Italy in November of 1944, when she torpedoed and crippled Nagato in the cover of night. After the war, Combattere would become a museum ship once decomissioned in 1956.
