RN Giunio Bruto

Giunio Bruto was designed as part of Progetto Aquila, which began in 1934. She would be laid down in 1935, and completed in 1938. She had two sisters, however the third ship in her class bared little resemblance to Bruto. Bruto remained in Italy until 1941, where she would be escorted to Goa to conduct carrier operations in Japan. During the course of the war, her squadrons often bombed shore installations in Indonesia, and harassed Japanese convoys due to the planes she carried being outdated. In 1943, she sank light cruiser Kiso off the coast of Java. Bruto wouldn't do much of note for the rest of the war, mostly assisting ground forces, and sailing back and forth from Goa to Somalia to ferry troops. She was laid up in 1947, and sunk as a target off the coast of Sardinia in 1948.
