Caltrops were deadly drones when they were first created being armed with a extremely fast firing Gatling gun and two rocket launchers. Nowadays they lay dormant conserving what little power they have and engaging anything that gets too close. Many of the Caltrops internals have been damaged by time leading to irregular movement that a new drone off the production line wouldn't have made.
