Maybe you could add some code that categorizes units / gear option / liveries into three subtypes: "winter type," "non-winter type," and "no winter type available." The code would check each item for "winter" in its name, placing it in the appropriate array. If no winter options are found, the item goes into the "no winter type available" array. Finally you set up the pool from which players and AI can select stuff depending on if the selected faction contains "winter" and on if the player has enabled an additional "include units/gear without winter option" parameter.
Something along those lines might work for factions whose devs have neatly labeled everything, as seems to be the case with those from the Global Mobilization DLC?
I'll see if I can figure a way for it to know which vehicles to spawn.
One question though: Is there a setting to prohibit winter camo units from spawning? Encountering bright white infantry units or vehicles in summer ruins the immersion and experience a bit, tbh. Thanks in advance!
