Serious Sam: The Time Crusader Demo - Episode 1: Lost in Time

This is my first map ever, and a first in the Time Crusader campaign I'm making. I suggest playing on normal difficulty since I didn't adapt it for other difficulties. Single player only.

Since I've never uploaded a map before, I don't know how well it will run on different systems (beyond what the testers have tried), where glitches might appear, or what issues players might encounter. So, I decided to upload at least the first level to see how everything performs, so I don't make the same mistakes for other levels.

Story:
Twenty-three years have passed since the events of Serious Sam: The Second Encounter. After leaving Earth behind, Sam and NETRICSA set out to reach planet Sirius, only to discover that the planet had vanished without a trace. Years of relentless searching yielded no answers, and any sign of Mental seems to have disappeared into the void of space. The duo now aimlessly roams the cosmos, scavenging for resources and fighting to keep their ship going and themselves alive.

One day, their ship’s scanner detects an anomaly: an uncharted planet radiating an energy signature that could serve as a vital fuel source. Desperate and curious, Sam and NETRICSA descend to the planet's surface, unaware that their story is about to take a unexpected turn.

Description of the map and what to expect:
The narrative element in this map is a lot more present then usual. I know that story isn't such a big part of the franchise, but I've always found it interesting and wanted to show what I think how the storyline should unfold further.Therefore, NETRICSA is a lot more communicative (using subtitles as a way to communicate to the player in real time) and will send a lot more messages to the player. These are by no means mandatory to read, except one message that explains what player needs to do - it will open automatically, so you won't miss it. Every other message can be skipped.

If, however, you are interested in the story, I strongly advise you to read the messages and keep the NETRICSA inbox clean since "Press USE to read the message" notification may clash with the real-time subtitles.

I strongly encourage you to look for secrets, as they are very awarding and contain additional stuff other than weapons, health and armor.

Playtime can vary, from 45 to 90 minutes.
