Torre del Vigía

La Torre del Vigía tiene una fecha estimada de construcción entre 1797 y 1800.1​Fue ordenada por el Virrey del Río de la Plata, don Gabriel de Avilés y del Fierro representante del imperio colonial español.
La torre se empleaba para controlar la entrada al Río de la Plata y solía contar con dos «torreros» que se turnaban en las tareas de vigilancia del mar y del campo circundante.


The Watchtower's construction is estimated to have been between 1797 and 1800. It was commissioned by the Viceroy of the Río de la Plata, Don Gabriel de Avilés y del Fierro, a representative of the Spanish colonial empire.
The tower was used to control the entrance to the Río de la Plata and was usually manned by two watchmen who took turns monitoring the sea and the surrounding countryside.
