Eulogy

My fifth original map?. I had lost track by the time this was made honestly. Not intended to be added to the game, it was just made for me and the people in my server, as a send-off for our community.


My original TF2 server shutdown on November 15th of 2024. It shut down with a happy ending, only closing after I determined without a proper and conclusive end, my work would not be as meaningful. A finale was had for its last day, as a send-off for my work, my most dedicated players, and what memories were made there.


This map has was completed in about 3 versions, or at least I stopped working on it after 3 versions. It was intended as a hangout, rather than purely a combat arena, in spite of using the dm_ gamemode prefix. It was reasonably popular towards the end when I released it.


I wanted a map to act as a final resting place for my server. I began work on this months in advance, along with all the edits to other maps/remakes and foreshadowing I did leading up to the end.


Maybe tied with ctf_security or ctf_2fort_chiz2 for my best looking map. I could spend hours here.


This map is now on the workshop as part of the ChZ collection, as promised. Even if I am a tad late.
