Unusacies' Battle Rods Re-Balanced

描述
The Battlerods Experience, but re-balanced to make the game fairer.

Includes many new features including:
- Total rework of the damage provided by rods: Most of them, when used normally and with tier-appropriate gear, produce about the same boss vanquishing times as their ranged and magic counterparts.
- Tension reworked: Damage is now done by applying tension to the rod, by reeling in an enemy. Balance out the reeling in and the relaxing of the wire to defeat bosses. By default, the old bobbing damage no longer occurrs on bosses.
- Tension applies a multiplier to Bob Speed or Damage (or both, not recommended) depending on config. Most rods go from 1x to 2x damage/speed, but some go further beyond!
- Tension goes from green, to yellow, purple and then red when maximum is reached. Reel in too much on red and the line breaks!
- Escalation was replaced with Over Tension, where after red tension, you can keep reeling for even more damage!
- The potions and reels that geve escalation now give Over Tension and max line tension.
- New items were added to change the tension applied in the rod, such as the Reel accessories, and the Tension Oil potion.
- New ammo screen for rods (optional), that allows you to take advantage of the true power of baits, discardables and (new) turrets.
- New ammo type, turrets, that allow for bobbers to spread new (existing) projectiles, besides whatever ones they do by default.
- Turrets, for most part, are crafted empty, and must be recharged at a Recharger, which takes the empty turret and produces a recharged version after a time. Most require items to recharge, that may or may not be consumed on the process.
- These Turrets were spread out in the progression, with the earliest made with iron, and the last ones with luminite. Some are more difficult to make than others, and one is even sold by the fish lady!
- Turrets drop the empty version on consumption, which you can then recharge for later use.
- Most Discardables can now be crafted from equivalent items, such as Grenades for Grenade Bobbers and Molotov Cocktails for Molotov Bobbers, but some still can only be purchased.
- Many new Miscelaneous items, such as the Worm Wings, Suspicious looking Fish Steak...
- Keys for changing Gears on the Reels and Swap between Sticky and Turret mode.
- Options in the server config for many things, including changing the balance of the rods for the old "balanced" Battlerods experience.

And Returning features:
- Battle Rods, Fishing rods that do damage when the bobber attaches to the enemy, by bobbing at a certain speed. They come in many tiers, from the starter Wooden Battlerod to the Post-Moonlord Fractalite Battlerod.
- A special Battle Rod made with all other rods, the Rod Containment Unit, that can insta-kill any non-boss enemies, at a cost...
- Some rods were changed in tier, such as the Fragment Rods, which became accessible before Moon Lord.
- Post-Moonlord rods should carry you through Calamity Post-MoonLord tier.
- Its unique Fishing Damage Class and its new fishing emblems (speed or damage)
- Many accessories that can be equipped in the accessory slots or, later on, left on the piggy bank or safe, through the equipping of the Fisherman's Kit and its variants.
- Lures that increase or decrease the amount of bobbers your fishing rods have, including other mod's rods.
- Hooks, wires and shafts that provide a variety of effects.
- Ammo such as the Powered baits, baits that cause debuffs on enemies they are attached to (or nearby with the Bait Dispersers), and the Discardable Bobbers, that do an effect on line break.
- Many new fished crates that contain a variety of useful content, such as souls and ectoplasm in the Soul Crate, or Fragments and Luminite (after Moon Lord defeated) in the Luminite crate
- And, lastly, the Cooler Boss that drops a station to craft baits, an exclusive (situational) Battle Rod, and that grows stronger with the stage of the game you are on:
- Try fighting it Post-Moon Lord for a real challenge.

Hi. I'm doing Russian localizations for various mods. I'm currently translating your mod. Question - would you like to incorporate the translation into the original mod? If not, I'll just make a separate mod with the translation.

@skoobee While we have thought of thorium compatibility, work sadly makes it very hard to develop further additions with the time we have. its not off the table but we cannot get to it any time soon...

@JPAN_v2 I was just curious if it was intended, Magic Dagger did make our mage a bit op for skeletron but other than that it was fine.

Im guessing the Thorium stuff is a no though

I could implement a toggle for those items dropping from the crate, but I never found that to be really troublesome, even with the magic dagger in the drops.

@skoobe Because they are a mimic, same stats and everything, they drop the mimic gear. So it would be on par with defeating a mimic in PreHardmode.
Back when they were first implemented, some mods added ways of obtaining those items in early game as well, so we found nothing strange in doing as such. The only problem might be the magic dagger or the star cloak, as all other items are just survival options. The philosopher's stone is needed for some crafts in the mod.

Are the suspicious crates supposed to be dropping Hardmode items in PreHardmode?

Planning to add this to my groups Thorium play through, I see you mentioned planned Thorium content. Is any of that added yet or just still base game?

Either way plan to add it but just curious c:

As for the balance feedback, we found that up until the vanilla endgame, the rods are on-par with the wiki-recommended setup, which might make it too easy for some players. We will look into adding a reduced damage setting to the config options in the future.

Crowd control is and always will be an issue with this class. We added the turrets to try and help with this, but there is only so much you can do to mitigate it without turning the rods into a different class. Turret Bobbers and the turret items should help, but battlerods will always be a "better for single enemies" class, unfortunately.

As for the extra lures, there are some accessories that increase damage when using them exclusively for multi-enemy cases. For singular enemies, 2-4 bobbers is the max recommended.
We can try to buff these accessories (like the redirector wire) to try and increase damage with multiple lures on multiple enemies, but for single enemies, its best to leave as it is.

Thanks for the feedback. The sound issue is due to a small incompatibility with Infernum Mod, and as it can be a bit annoying, I've added a toggle for the reeling and tension sound effects, as they are the ones affected the most.

As for the drippler bug, I could not replicate it. May be a mod incompatibility.
As for the bobber despawning when you reel in while touching it, it's vanilla terraria behaviour that I cannot remove. The bobber only despawns if it is touching you while being pulled back.

A few bugs as well: Reeling a drippler makes all the lures on it instantly have infinite tension, some rods make sound effects cut out when held (I tend to play without sound, so I only know the vortex rod does this), and I don't know if it's a bug but touching a hooked lure while reeling makes that lure go away and need to be cast again.
