T-60

The T-60 light tank was developed by the Soviet Union in 1941 as a stopgap measure to replace losses suffered during the early stages of World War II. Designed as a reconnaissance and infantry support vehicle, it was a simplified and more easily mass-produced alternative to the T-50. Armed with a 20mm TNSh autocannon and protected by thin armor, the T-60 was outmatched by German tanks but remained in production due to its ease of manufacturing. Over 6,000 were built before being phased out in favor of the more capable T-70.
