It should work fine, however if the buddy you're playing with is not using the mod, they won't see the same colors you do.
In that case, you can edit the mod files and get rid of the altered texture, or textures, that you don't want.
I assume you're talking about path/troop colors. For the time being, you can try using Vivid Paths mod on top of this one and see if it's any better.
If not, maybe you could provide me assistance in creating a color palette that works for you :)
In case you still haven't figured it out, it's the texture outside the mission/map bounds. Squares represent certain dimensions (as presented in the pictures) so you can estimate the distance of engagements while gearing up your squad.
Oh, that's nice. I've looked into the issue but couldn't figure it out, so this is an accidental fix, lol. But glad it works, have fun :).
Tried the mod again after your latest update. Looking to be working without issue now
