In B42 you can kill, butcher and even cook all the vermin that start to appear during your time in Knox.
An oversight by the devs, or a terrible decision on their behalf (I sincerely hope this isn't the case) makes it so when you skin and cook a rat or mouse, and then eat it, you get incredibly sad, oh and you can't add it to any food, only eat the rat like the delicious meaty little corn-dog it is.

But why?
For years, we've been able to catch rats and mice in traps, butcher them to get small rodent meat, to then use however we wanted, with no sadness, and no problems.
From looking at the code, we can still do that in B42, but only with vermin caught in traps.

All rats and mice have been changed so you can add them to food exactly as you would "small rodent meat"
Which means you can also turn them into chum for fishing.
For some cooking, you must have cooked the rat or mouse first.

A: Yes, as long as the other mod doesn't change anything with skinned vermin corpses.

A: Not if you cook them, which you really should... don't eat raw rats and mice...
