ATTENTION! If for some reason the map does not have the proper textures, OR you do not have Dod,CSS,Tf2, etc. Then you should download the required "DLC" But I advise trying without it first.

Hello Garry's Mod players! I know it is a lot to read but I hope you take a little time and do so to avoid any surprises or confusion. Until you see "Final" in it's name, this map is still a WIP! (I have been away from mapping due to having a child and new pc build losing my former saves but I am back and looking forward to seeing what you all think!) Lets get started.

Echo City has had many names over the course of time, its a map nearing 21 years old and only growing in size and detail, I do not have the time to map all day so through the months and years updates will come so they can be enjoyed and used by all. There is still much to do and finish, for example; random block buildings are holding spots for something down the line, repeating textures (though many have been removed) will not be there forever. The map is very usable and has a lot to offer. Much has changed since previous versions. In this edit of the map you can expect to see a LOT and to avoid any spoilers, I will leave you with a smaller description.

Changes to the map including but not limited to:

2025 Day Version Updates:
- Per a fan request a long time ago the map is now day time
- The harbor area has seen some love
- Some buildings and items had to be removed because I am hitting Hammers Limits with what I am able to add
- 3rd Pass on textures, repacked the map so you shouldn't see any error signs
Known issues:
-Glass texture has gone back to the one we don't like, I will work on that again.

- New lights in some areas as well as a sprite test for the lamps on the boardwalk area near the beach club

- Larger beach to make it possible to walk under the docking area

- several updated rooftops to start making the skyline look a little more alive

- place holder beginning for the lighthouse

- building texture changes to reduce some of the repeats on building faces that haven't gotten attention yet

- All new underground with 2 subway trains that can take you almost anywhere in the map, as well as to the underground mall, food court and shopping center

- Subway train cars can be stopped and started by passengers

- "Elevator access" to all subway stops excluding the "abandon/forgotten" train line area

- New alternate access to the forgotten bunker so the requested "special elevator" wont have to be removed

- Hobo areas above and underground

- more parking

- first pass for detail on most newer buildings and some older

- Many copied buildings removed and or replaced

- City rooftop access stage 1 will now allow you to cross many rooftops on foot.

- underground "mine/cave" system with a couple hidden goodies.

- beach front club and party venue has its first pass on detail and now includes a waterfall

- Park and playground

- Basic signage for the federal building and fire department to help differentiate them from the police station

- Map is noded and npc ready

- new buildings added:
Bank with tested realistic level of bulletproof walls in the "vault"
Underground mall
Cafe with kitchen large enough for food mod rp'ers
Dirt oval race track
Hidden access to dirt oval race track
Dirt oval race track garage
Dirt oval race track judge stand and bleachers
Redone Hospital
Grocery store
Several new homes, apartments, and/or condos
redone shops and gas stations
Shipping dock storage building
Shipping container
New spawn location unreachable without no-clip reducing spawn-kill likelihood
Train Station
Secret things and such.
and more.

As of 6/6/2023 Updates include but are not limited to:

- Dock now has multiple buildings and is larger.

- Beached shipwreck with a scrape metal shack.

- Additional underground tunnels

- new roads through areas that previously needed them

- Dirt ring race track adjustments

- Further work on rooftop access allowing you to now cross most of the city on rooftop

- removed some houses and buildings to make room for further detail and future additions.

- Spawn room now prevents prop spawning, as well as a few other areas.

- Improvements and second wave of detail over some areas.

- New rooftop parking at the H mall with a special surprise for the less sane drivers out there.

New buildings include:
Scrapping Building (with working incinerator)
Scrap shack on beached ship
Ally garage
industrial buildings
condos
and more.

UPDATE! Not abandon. Just have to redo a lot to be able to fit more. but still on it!

@Mazapan! Awesome thank you for the feedback, I think I can manage most of if not all of that. New PC now so getting set up is proving to be annoying but Will be back at it soon. feel free to add me, and when I have a playable pre release I will invite you to check it out.

more props in mall would be good, as well as in alleyways and such. A motel building would also be pretty cool. very good map already tho
