Northstone Island

On the first day of spring, a mysteriously injured Wizard arrived at the domain of Lord Skittish and his hamlet dwellers, seeking hospitality. The newcomer fell into a trance and revealed an eerie prophecy: something was growing in the forest, and it would be the end for them all.

The Lord promptly fled to Northstone Island, where an old lighthouse stood as the only structure, far from the shore and, thus, far from the dangers awaiting on land.

For months to come, the settlers valiantly built their domain before the arrival of the harsh winter. Little did they know, it wasn’t isolation that had caused the island to be abandoned two centuries ago. On a beautiful autumn day, the waves came without wind. Within seconds, giant tentacles emerged from the estuary waters and attacked the newly built castle. The Kraken was furious to find inhabitants on the coast of her annual nesting place.

Desperate to stop the destruction by any means, the Wizard defied the limits of his powers to immobilize the Kraken, while survivors slew a few of the Kraken's kin, and others fled back into the water.
