Neurogenic systems are plural systems whose origins are related to neurodivergency or pre-existing mental illness. Hyperfixations, hallucinations, or other products of either neurodivergence or mental illness may evolve into full blown additional personalities.

This does not include disorders such as or similar to PTSD as that would lead to a traumagenic system instead.

System origin is both a topic of controversy and pride for many systems as it can be a way to identify with and heal alongside others like them.
