North American Rockwell RA-5D Super Vigilante MOD (fictional)

The RA-5C Vigilante only saw a limited service time in the US Navy, mainly due to the aircraft being expensive and complex to maintain, and because of the post-Vietnam military cutbacks. But what if the Navy had decided to extend its service time by giving it more punch? Enters the fictional: RA-5D Super Vigilante. The RA-5D is still a recon aircraft, but it can now engage hostile targets of opportunity be it a ship, a radar, a land installation or even an aircraft in self-defence.

Available loadouts:

• Empty: no armament, just like the vanilla RA-5C
  
• Anti Ship: 2 x AGM-84a
  
• Strike: 6 x Mk-83
  
• Strike Precision: 2 x GBU-10
  
• SEAD: 2 x AGM-45
  
• Air to Air: 2 x AIM-9D

The RA-5D is still a recon aircraft, not a strike-fighter, so I didn't want to turn it into a missile/bomb truck. But now it is more useful in the game than the RA-5C ;)

You'll find the RA-5D in the mission editor (or encyclopedia) @ Nation: USA / Unit Type: Recon / Unit Name: RA-5D.

The mod comes with a variant of USS America's loadout: with 4 RA-5Ds replacing the RA-5Cs.

Design notes: In Sea Power the pylons are often part of the aircrafts' main fuselage or wings meshes, which make them impossible to kitbash. But there are a some exceptions: For the RA-5D I 'borrowed' the pylons from the Armed Bizjet (fr_h700.ini file).

Note: If you publish a scenario using this mod, do not forget to indicate in your description that in order it works the players need to subscribe to this mod first ;).

Important (about mods and mods use):
This mod has been tested and is running perfectly on my computer (i7-11800H @ 2.30 Ghz - 16 GB RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050) with no other mod enabled. However, since they are as many computer configurations than computer users, it's unfortunately impossible to guarantee it will work on yours.
Be aware that by installing mods for Sea Power, you are modifying your game experience from the original intended product which is (at release date of this mod) still in EARLY ACCESS. Therefore, later game updates/patches may cause this mod to be deprecated. Although it is very unlikely, the presence of other enabled mods might cause conflicts, and the more enable mods on your computer, the greater the chance of conflict. So, to sum it up, USE MODS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
If you wish to clean uninstal this mod make sure to follow these steps: 1) Uncheck this mod in the mod manager. 2) Click on Accept. 3) Unsubscribe. Then make sure the mod's file is no longer in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\1286220 folder.
