The Nyi Roro and Siyokoy were good ships for their time, but both the realities of war and a changing doctrine in the Leviathan Contingency created a need for a ship that could occupy a space somewhere between both classes of ships. Using the Euryale class Battleship as a base design, Leviathan Contingency Engineers created the Medusa, a heavy platform that boasts excellent shielding, heavy armor, and numerous superfiring hardpoints. The Medusa is a tough, practical ship that serves well as the vanguard in the march towards the core.
