As they say, I just do it for others, especially since I did the thumbnail in a hurry because it was my last day off.

the tumbnails are in a ratio of 1:1 (square), the file size is where its an issue where is has to be smaller then 5MB (which you rarely have to worry about)

what id do is go to the tf2 wiki on the map your uploading

use that maps og thumbnail or random image

edit it if needed to be a 1;1 square

add your boarder and logo or whatever you want

save as a png or Jpg and your done

Well, I opened scissors windows and changed the dimensions a bit because I do not know the exact dimensions of the workshop thumbnails.

the thumbnails are a bit squished at least with the sfm logo in the corner
