Armor Expansion Add-On - 3.0 Update

描述
FEATURES
-More than 25 new armors added for the player to obtain, armors are obtainable through quests, crafting or trading.
-Mod is manually translated into English, Czech, Polish and has half-manual half-machine translation for German.
The mod automatically detects which language you are playing in, if the language is not detected it will default to English. (If you want to translate the mod into your language please reach out!)
-Some NPCs also wear new armor based on their rank or position.
-Some NPCs also have different equipment based on their status and rank. (For example new crossbowmen units have crossbows and one handed swords)
-Faction leaders have unique armor, those are Lord Hagen, Lord Andre and Lee.
-Every armor is added on top of original ones, meaning vanilla armors are not replaced in any way.
-Ranged playthrough expanded, now you can choose armors which have less protection but give bonus to bow and crossbow skills for your guild.
-Fully compatible with all texture mods.
-High Compatibility with other mods, to the point where the game checks which mod you have installed and adjusts so the experience is fully balanced between the two. More information in the "COMPATIBILITY" section.
-Some armors added are guild neutral, good for a guildless playthrough
-All helmets are removable for every armor, even vanilla ones. You can put down the visor on the paladin armors as well.
-Mod can be safely uninstalled at any point of your playthough without breaking your saves.

-I plan to make more mods like this, for example adding an expanded variety of Sect Camp armors, or Old camp armors or new weapons in the future so look out for those :).

NEW FEATURES IN UPDATE 3.0
- New balance detection system
What this means is that thanks to some brilliant code by Mud-freak, i was able to implement balancing for some of the most popular mods to ensure your experience with ArmorExpansion remains balanced. The game checks if you have a certain mod installed, and if yes, different protection values will be used for armors that are compatible with the values present in the mod (making sure no armor added by armor expansion is too weak or too powerful, and also making sure no bugs occur when crafting materials are replaced by Lhiver).
So far the game checks for the followin mods: Lhiver 1.3, Lhiver 2.0 DE, Lhiver by BuddyGoth, Atariar Edition, Minimod Balance, Gothic 2 Alternative. If these mods are not detected the game will use values for original Gothic 2 instead. If you are playing a version of these mods that is not detected or a different mod you would like to have balanced you can let me know and i can have a look at it.
-New visuals for fixed and enriched paladin armors, making them more distinct to eachother
-Crawler plate hunting armor now also benefits from wearing the minecrawler belt just like its counterpart from original Gothic 2

COMPATIBILITY:
100% Ensured compatibility with: Lhiver 1.3, Lhiver 2.0 DE, Atariar edition, Gothic 2 Alternative, Minimod Balance (Both Steam and manual versions)
Nostalgic Edition 2.1.7 and Nostalgic Edition 1.5 are also compatible.
Other mods in the same style should also be compatible.
Compatible with all texture mods.

Not compatible with:
Total conversions (Archolos, Legend of Ahssun, etc.)
Returning 2.0 or any of its versions.
Nostalgic edition 3.1.8
Lhiver 1.6 EN (Version by Masty)

The 4.0 update is still coming along, and i want to give an update on what is planned. There is a decent amount of features coming, the second half of the game being the focus (Paladins and dragonhunters). Many bugs are fixed and the mod will be compatible with more projects, but i need more time to finish the update. @atyma Of course it does not, Brotherhood: way of the sleeper is a total conversion that changes the whole story and is its own seperate thing. It takes place in the colony, so the presence of the armors from my mod would make no sense. It cannot work together with my mod by default.

@Shima The rebalancing would be easy enough to do, the harder part would be all the script changes that NotR brings to the table that the mod relies on (NPCs, belts, etc.). I would probably have to upload a seperate version rebuilt to be compatible with the original G2 and it would require a lot of work to function. But i am glad you decided to try it out in the future anyway :)

I guess I will check this mod out in my next NOTR playthrough then. Rebalancing it for classic would be indeed a pain. Thanks anyway!

@Shima Thank you. It depends on which armors you mean, the original knight and paladin armor remain unchanged, as do all the other original armors. As for the knight/paladin crossbowmen armors, they are without head coverings since i wanted to make them somehow visually distinct. Although i plan to add some sort of kettle hat to them in the fututre. The rest of the new armors each have their own helmets. (for example the heavy knight armor has something inbetween the knight and the paladin helmet.)

I dont know how compatible it is, the stats probably are not since they rely on NotR balancing (Paladin/dragonhunter armor having 150 protection). I would have to add it to the detected mods, but i am not sure how that would work since some of the stuff in the mod relies on NotR content, like the pirate captain armor.

This mod looks awesome! Is there any option to keep pure chainmail helmets on the paladin armors?
Also, is there a way to make it work with the Gothic 2 Classic mod? Meaning the base game without NOTR.

@Gisbert From what i playtested the Gold remaster version has vanilla armor values, so it is not necessary to add unique balancing and detection for it like i did with the high vegetation mod version. The only thing that needs to be adressed is the crashing, otherwise i do not plan to make other adjustments for it.

As for the other things, the 2.6 version came out on the 9th of october 2025 (judging by the ModDB release date), not the 25th since at the time of writing it is October 13th. It is true though that the workshop version and the WoG version are different and that the workshop version is out of date, so i will attempt to make both compatible in the next update. Thank you for bringing that up!

Also expect the update to come with a bit of delay, since at this time i have less time to spend on mods so i cannot get around to everything as quickly. Hopefully less than 2 months but i cannot promise anything 100%.

I just noticed that the workshop version of “resizt” I've posted is not yet the latest version from October 25. The scripts changed and have been renamed (MiniMod to RemasterScripts also some new librarys I think). If so, wait for the new version. I've already posted resizt on his pinboard page.
Not that you put any work into an outdated version.
