Air raids launched from bases near Murmansk have had much higher rates of interception then others. It is assumed that an American ELINT submarine is operating in the area, and is intercepting radio communications during takeoff.

Earlier this morning, a Krivak I-class frigate assigned to ASW grid S55 encountered a brief transient. Now joined by an Il-86, the hunt for the elusive submarine is on.

Notes:

The Krivak works best as a listening platform to direct aerial assets. Sonobouys are essentially useless unless right on top of the target, and are best used to direct fire once the track has been located. An additional ASW asset is provided, if the mission goes disastrously wrong (it shouldn't its pretty easy).
