This mod does not require any updates at version 0.24.6. You can use it as is.
I checked it on the main branch ver. 0.22.20 and the experimental branch ver. 0.22.21, and it worked fine.
The only thing I'm concerned about is that when I tried to build a prison stash before switching back from the experimental branch to the main branch, it definitely crashed. That might be related. Try switching branches once.
And thanks for the detailed report.
Until recently I haven't had any experience with prisoners. As a consequence of getting one however, I've discovered a small flaw in your mod. The meal labelled as Stew has been replaced with the term Meal in your mod (per your description), but that choice ("Meal") is unavailable as a potential storage unit in the Prisoner's Stash. I tried to have 3 Stew Meals (made from Mushrooms) to be moved to the Stash, to no avail. Roasted Meat, populated there instead, although that option wasn't checked off. Right now, he just gets Bread, but it might be better to either change the label "Meal" back to "Stew" in the Campfire/Stove or change "Stew" to "Meal" for the Stash. There doesn't appear to be any problem with normal shelves, just the Stash.
