Grayhound

The year is 1959, and in an alternate timeline after World War II has passed, the Royal Navy has downsized after Europe has become peaceful and the Soviet Union has agreed to coexist with the West. The Middle East however, decides not to get along. The nation of Libya has decided to have a civil war to dethrone their king, and a rebel group is now trying to install a dictatorship in the country. They have seized the navy and their air forces, and are now enforcing a lockdown of the Med. The United Kingdom by order of the United Nations has agreed to commit to peacekeeping operations, by sending in supplies to help the Eastern Libyan Resilience! The Libyan rebels, incredibly angered by this, have threatened the destruction of all British vessels, including those carrying innocent passengers aboard ocean liners; their lives are now at the stake of terrorism. Aboard one outdated C-Class destroyer which has not yet been sold to Canada, HMS Crescent is the only Royal Navy vessel on station outside Libya, to enforce the safety of British passengers and peacekeeping merchants loaded with supplies to the opposition. High Command has given her a task: Operation "Grayhound", referring back to the days of WWII hunting U-Boats. There is an unknown Libyan diesel electric submarine which is either captured Syrian or French, as well as surface naval forces; it is your primary mission to sink the diesel boat, and Libyan frigates. But referencing the Operation's name of "Grayhound", Crescent's only attack against submarines is the SQUID ASW mortar, a real throwback. This mission will consist of zero naval missiles, only WWII tactics in this new missile age. This mission is also ENTIRELY fictional, and vessels have been chosen to reflect a cold, outdated world.

NOTE: This is my first mission, and it is relatively small with outdated vessels. I attempted to give it a "Silent Hunter" sort of feel, this will not be your typical Sea Power mission.
