Bullets Hurt. Play Smart.

This is intended to be played with Regenerating HEV Suit Power and Regenerating Health. The result is a combat experience that strips out healthkit hunting in favor of skill - play well or die.

Unlike other difficulty mods, this doesn't mess with anything BUT how much things hurt you, which gives you more options to surmount the high difficulty. (And increases headshot damage done to enemies. It's too low.)

Fixed some balancing oversights in prior version. This should be much easier and is the actually intended version - give it another shot if you see this.

This mod speeds up the regen / shield pace a bit, since the typical expectation is you go into combat with full both.

Requires Script Multi-Loader.

just finished an entire playthru without regen hev suit power and regenning health and

combined with agressive combat ai it really solidified how helpless gordon really is against the combine, only issue with it is how ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful the headcrab damage is and manhack damage like jesus christ they do too much damage

In my life I would've never thought that I'm gonna sweat in hl2. With this mod and agressive combine AI the game on hardmode is something else. First time in many years half life brings me joy

Whoops. There's something fu<ky with what damage numbers mean to the manhack. Fixed.

Playing with this and regenerating suit power.
Works well, but Id say buff the Manhack damage since if you are at 100 suit, they do around 2 damage per hit.
Compared to fast headcrabs which do like 15-20.
