Map: Betio, Tarawa Atoll 1943 - 11/22/1943
Gamemode: Operation (5 phases)
Invaders: United States (allies)
Defenders: Japan (axis)





November 22nd, 1943 – 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines begins pushing east from the Pier along Red Beach 3 to their left and the airfield to their right. Facing fierce, determined Japanese resistance they clear the area of enemy forces. Among the obstacles in this vicinity are the pre war Australian stubby dock known as the Burns-Philp Wharf used for smaller shipping. By nightfall, the Marines of 2/8 had linked up with 1st Battalion, 6th Marines who had cleared Black Beaches 1 and 2 simultaneously after pushing east from Green Beach.

Im going to take a look at this mission today and see if I can find the problem. Also I did bring this issue up with Marco just to cover my bases (Marco is the chief developer for the game) and there was a bug in the public and beta version of the game with some props issues. Let me know if you see any difference. If it happens again, can you get a screenshot and show me whats missing? It would help immensely so I can fix it.

Hmm. Are you playing in Beta? I had one friend of mine play it and reported the maps pier disappeared for some reason. He went and reloaded and it all showed up after he switched back to the public version.

Most of the objects are missing, is this a bug?
I installed all the items I needed.

My pleasure! I really prioritize historical accuracy in my missions, in fact its a major priority for me. I can do a mix, I had a limited selection of photos for the Betio time frame and almost all of them showed Type 99's. I do have the Naval Construction Workers using Type 38's currently though. Tell you what, can I message you directly on this subject? If needed, I'll go back through the missions I have as well as the ones I'm working on and have a mix of Type 38's and Type 99's. I just need the documentation.

Is it also possible to give the SNLF a mixture of both Type 38 rifles and type 99s? as that would have been more accurate for the SNLF

Sure enough, I found the army canteens. When I do these missions I use custom squads so it means I have to do each one of them by hand one at a time. So some IJA gear slipped in. Good news is I caught it and have replaced the IJA vests with the Navy ones. I have taken the liberty also to look through the other maps as well to make sure the Japanese have the correct vests. Red Beaches, 1, 2 and 3 are done. 3 Was the biggest offender so far. Going to double check the remaining missions as well. Thanks for the heads up! Also I should have the next new missions up in the coming days.
