Second Battle of Kinmen (1969)

ROC military leaders have instructed radar installations on Kinmen Island to be on full alert, as there is a heightened chance of the PLA getting cocky and trying to take our position on the island by force within the coming hours.

American PACFLEET intelligence intercepted a communication stating an "amphibious force" was coming to the western Kinmen channel, and PLAAF migs have been spotted flying over the strait with heavy weapons just this morning.

CCG has been sailing around the island for weeks for "exercises", but we know better, and have preemptively sent the destroyer ROCS Tsu Yang (930) (Stand-In, Coontz-Class), and the upgraded Knox-Class frigate ROCS Yi Yang (939) to head for Kinmen to support the ground defenses. They will act as a screen for any PLA push from the south, but be aware that the PLAAF most likely has maritime reconnaisance assets already airborne, and missile boats deployed somewhere along the coast by the time they start their assault. These ships are likely to be destroyed if they emit radar carelessly, and the enemy has significantly heavier firepower on their side.

You are the only asset in range that our boys on the ground have to help them out until the ROCS Te Yang (926) and Suei Yang (925) can come to relieve you.
