The "Rock Eater" is an attempt to minimise the time needed to drill through armour. Very thin and heavy projectile, together with high ROF, make it possibly one of the most effective anti-armour kinetic weapons. The problems are unfortunately rather obvious - at 8 km/s its range isn't incredible and the 370 MW power requirement is rather prohibitive.
